Challenges will be released each day at 10am (MST)

WHO:  Boys and girls, ages 5-8th grade are welcome to Participate

What:  every day on this page we will release a camp skills challenge video from one of our Bear Coaches. Participants will have until Friday at 10am to submit their entries. Winners for each competition will receive cool prizes. Each participant who submits a challenge for each day (4 submissions) will also receive a prize!

DAILY CHALLENGEs

Monday:

CHALLENGE #1: CONE DRILL
​SET UP 5 CONES (OR OBJECTS) ABOUT 3 FEET APART. WEAVE THROUGH THE CONES USING A CROSSOVER MOVE AND SEE HOW MANY TIMES YOU CAN MAKE IT THROUGH THE 5 CONES IN 30 SECONDS! 

​(COUNTING IS AS SHOWN IN VIDEO.)
CHALLENGE #2: MIKAN SERIES PART 1
SET UP 2 CONES OR OBJECTS ON THE ELBOWS. DRIBBLE AROUND THE OUTSIDE OF THE CONES USING THE APPROPRIATE HAND AND USE THE SAME HAND TO MAKE A LAYUP. GET YOUR REBOUND AND REPEAT ON THE OPPOSITE SIDE WITH YOUR OTHER HAND. COUNT HOW MANY LAYUPS YOU CAN MAKE IN 30 SECONDS!

Tuesday:

Challenge 1: tennis ball drill
in this challenge you will need a basketball and a tennis ball (or other type of smaller ball). while crossing over the basketball from hand to hand, you will also pass the smaller ball opposite the basketball. The challenge is to see how many times the smaller ball switches hands in 30 seconds.
Challenge #2: Mikan Drill layups
the challenge is to count how many layups you can MAKE doing the mikan layup drill shown by coach sean in the video. even if you miss a layup, keep going! 

Wednesday:

Challenge #1: 10 foot turn-around jumpers
For this challenge, you will need to place two cones (or objects) about 10 feet away from the hoop angled in opposite directions as shown in the video. spin the ball to yourself, jump stop, and reverse pivot into your jump shot. get your own rebound then repeat these steps on the opposite side. make as many shots as you can in 30 seconds!
challenge #2: pound dribble between the legs
Keeping a good ball-handling posture, this challenge requires a hard, pound dribble then a between the legs move. repeat the pound and between the legs with your other hand. in 30 seconds, you will count how many times the ball goes between your legs!

​remember: the harder you can pound the ball the quicker it can get back to your hand and the quicker you will be!

Thursday:

Challenge #1: Coach sean's finisher drill
There are four segments in this challenge: 
25 knee-high pound dribbles
25 ankle-high pound dribbles
15 push-pull's
15 in and outs
once you have completed these with one hand, you will repeat them all with your other hand. the goal of this challenge is to complete all four segments with both hands in the least amount of time.
Challenge #2: Hot Shot competition!
The hot shot competition involves different point totals for different spots on the court. both right and left hand lay-ups are worth 1 point each. right and left block shots are worth 2 points each. both elbows are worth 3 points each, and free-throws are worth 4 points. In one minute you will count how many points you can total. 5 extra points are awarded if you shoot (not make) from every spot.
